02 - Introduction to 'Eating Out' - Please Read before posting

Please note that any reviews or recommendations on this forum are personal and do not represent any endorsement of the establishments concerned by the owners of this forum.

Eating out is a major part of any holiday. It also forms a major part of resident's social lives.

We are often asked where we like to eat out and to be truthful, we get a little scared of this question! We will explain.

Food is a very personal thing and recommendation can sometimes lead to disappointment. There is an old saying that one man's meat is another man's poison. We have fallen foul of other people's recommendations which have made us reluctant to recommend places. Some people are influenced solely by cost. Sorry but a cheap meal is not necessarily good, nor is an expensive one.

So when you read a recommendation here, take it as just that, a recommendation based upon another persons tastes. Frequently, recommendations will be made specifically because of the ambience or more frequently, the hospitality of those running or working in a given establishment.

Negative Reviews
I honestly believe that there is no place for negative reviews about places to eat. Simply review the places where you have enjoyed the experience and ignore those that haven't come up to scratch. If you have trouble with this, check out the second paragraph above!

Suggested Format
In posting your review, we suggest that it will be helpful to others if the topic takes the form, 'LOCATION' followed by 'NAME OF ESTABLISHMENT' eg. Agni Bay - Taverna Nikolas. This will aid users not familiar with the island and will aid searching. If possible, give an address. Phone numbers and websites are also helpful, should you know them.

Photographers are violent people. First they frame you, then they shoot you, then they hang you on the wall.
