Well done CFU44!

The blog looks good as does the pastitsio recipe! I haven't looked at the other recipes yet but I will!

I've just come across your post and love the dishes described, some of which I've cooked before but others will certainly be given a try out.  They seem to have the occasional different twist to them.

Reading your blog I couldn't believe you worked in Far Rockaway.  I made my first trip to the States last September/October and the final part of the trip I stayed in Brooklyn which is where some of my relatives emigrated to from Ireland.  I took the train one day to Far Rockaway as I'd read a recommendation for the beach there.  It was looking a little careworn round the edges but I realised later this was probably the aftermath of Katerina.
Keep the recipes coming.

Just out of curiosity, how many people are they for?

Hi everyone,

I'm so sorry I have forgotten about this forum only because I have been through a lot. My dad passed away to cancer so I haven't been myself. I'm gather my pieces slowly and getting back on track. Thank You all for the feed back and nice words, I have updated dishes and I have dedication to my dad. Usually my didshes are for a family of four. you have all made me so happy with your comments :)   @Maria Smyth  What year did you go to FarRockaway, my dad and uncle bought the store in 1972 and had it till the 90's

If there's anything I missed on the blog just let me know or drop me a line.

So sorry to hear about your dad.  He sounds like a real inspiration and, looking at your blog,  could make a mean hotdog!  :) x

Hi CFU41

It was only last October I went to Far Rockaway.  Too late to sample your dad's cooking.  I'll just have to make do with your great recipes.

CFU41 you and your family have some recipes well worth trying. The pictures really help.

I was sorry to read your Dad passed away and hope you are gradually coming to terms with your loss. Not easy, but he left you with great memories to savour.

Thinking of your other post about looking for work--your blog reminded me of one by a Greek-Canadian that started, like yours, as a labour of love--a source of good recipes for home cooking described in enough detail to be easy to follow.  Some years later the thing has grown into a major endeavour with everything from restaurant reviews to publicity for the Greek-themed dinner parties the blogger hosts, with sponsorship by Greek food companies. From little acorns, and all that...

Oh Dasia thanks,I'm trying to come to terms with it the blog is really helping me because as I write I remember a lot of thongs that he has taught me. esp. business skills 101( I would like to somehow incorporate that in my blog)  I never knew that WOW !! I will take a look at the blog later. I'm really happy to see that you took the time out to go through my blog and I'm even happier that you like my recipes.

I'm planning on switching over to blogger becauseit's easier to monetize with then with wordpress

Hi again, I have revamped my first recipe on my blog and I would like some comments. I added a picture of Palecastritsa, I think it fits if you have any suggestions just let me know.
Thank you all for supporting me.

CFU41,

Have I missed something? Maybe you have moved your blog over to Blogger and not given a link. I can't see a picture of Paleokastritsa on the 'Mommy's Kitchen' site.

Couldn't see it either, CFU41, but the idea of adding pictures of Corfu is good. Maybe also pictures of Corfu produce in the market etc.
