My operation
« on: February 13, 2016, 02:04:30 PM »
I'm afraid for once that I'm not going to relay the events chapter and verse!
I can usually find some form of humour in what I tell you but on this occasion I can't!
Believe me I have tried!

Through no ones faults it transpired that I had to have a full general anaesthetic because I had too much unpenetrable scar tissue from an old injury on the small of my back!

I won't bore you with the details of my operation ,,
Perhaps I expected too much from the procedure ,,,no one told me what a zombie felt like after being given morphine!
Or it might be that I'm a winge bag and not a good patient!

On a brighter note ,once home, two visits from the physio therapist and I was discharged from their care,,,

If my other hip needs doing ,,would I have it done?
I'll let you know when my first op is nothing but a far distant memory ! :)

Phew! There's a relief! I'm so glad that you are back with us and that things seem to be progressing well. We were worried as we have had a major outage with the forum and I was afraid that you might give up on us in frustration!

I am amazed at how quick some people progress after hip replacements. We have been following Eamonn Holmes' story as he has just had both done at the same time.

Make sure that you follow the instructions! and don't do too much.

Take care and keep us posted.

I am sooooo glad that you spared us the murky details! ;D

Take care.

Good to have you back, Maggy, I was starting to get worried! I've got to be honest, I thought you were very brave opting for the local anaesthetic in the first place, I would definitely want to be knocked out for any type of surgery!  At least you're home now and can recuperate with Mr M at your beck and call!  ;D ;D ;D

Sounds like you've not had a good experience, Maggy.

You'll just have to do what you're told ( ::) :-\ :o ;) ) no matter how difficult. No answering back to Mr M.!

I hope you'll be back on your feet, feeling much better and happier very soon.

It's good to have you back with us again. :D

Glad you checked in even though you're still getting over the operation, Maggy. It's a good sign that you already don't need the physio. Hope you'll be feeling better very soon!

Good Lord Maggy, you must be feeling bad, that is probably the shortest post of yours I've ever read!
Hope things are improving now, 'Himself' had a new knee a few years ago and it took a few weeks but now it's much better than his           'non-bionic' one.
"Keep on buggering on" as they say!  You'll get there.
