Hi
returning to Corfu in 2 weeks time
(stayed RODA in June )
Staying CORIFO VILLAGE - ACHARAVI
last time we hired a car and travelled the length of the island mainly coastline

this time would like to do more historical/ inland areas
does anyone have any suggestions / advice
also what should we expect weather wise

I would highly recommend a visit to Angelokastro, above Paleokastritsa.  It's quite a steep walk up to the top but it's well worth it!  (Just remember to take some water with you!)  There's a fantastic video showing it here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3RhfiDGXqQ

Also, Corfu town itself is another must-see...it's full of history, from the old and new forts, to the winding, narrow streets. It is on the UNECO World Heritage list, more information here - http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/978

Old perithia is a lovely place to chill out for a few hours, grab a bit of lunch or maybe just a drink in one of the tavernas, sit for a short while and enjoy the peace and quiet of the place, it's wonderful.
