EHIC card
« on: November 24, 2012, 08:19:43 PM »
when we were in Corfu earlier this year we had occasion to visit the Doctor .
His fee for consultation and medicine came to 262 euros
On our return home I made a claim to the following:-
Overseas Healthcare team
Durham House
Washington Centre
Washington NE38 7SF England

Telephone 0191 21 81999

Email:- tvp.internationalqueries@thepensionservice.gsi.gov.uk

Website:- www.thepensionservice.gov.uk

They have just written to me to say they are refunding the costs to me in full.

If I had claimed on our travel insurance I would have to have paid 50 excess.

Bob, perhaps you could put these details where members could refer to them in future if they need to. :)

Hi Kernowman ,

It would be useful if you let us all know exactly what paperwork etc . you had to provide to prove your treatment on Corfu  ?

Or did they just take your word for it ?

Kernowman,

I'm glad to hear that the system works! You make a good point. I just have to think where to put this information so that it will be useful and obvious to others that may be visiting the island as opposed to residents.

I wonder if there is any merit in a forum of what to do should the worst happen and things go wrong. If anyone has suggestions as to what might be included, please let me or Trisa know. We already have 'The Directory' but this is more specific.

Bob
Photographers are violent people. First they frame you, then they shoot you, then they hang you on the wall.
