The Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
« on: February 08, 2012, 03:37:30 AM »
Nominated for both the Orange prize and the Booker, this is a wonderfully engrossing book.   "Fingersmith" is a Victorian term for a petty thief but this story is more about out-conning a con-man (or woman).   It is beautifully written and the descriptions of the two houses featured in the book, haunt me still.   Set in Victorian England and with many twists and turns.   A brilliant book indeed and very highly recommended.
