Barbecue's and Skordalia
« on: July 17, 2013, 08:06:42 AM »
Finally the Electrician arrived 24 hours later and 30 phone calls :-\ not bad really.

Anyway he managed to fix the problem even though he nearly blew himself up in the process  ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The next night we had a barbecue there we thought well the Electrics are working so everything should be fine - we forgot one thing  ::) Kostas and moi winding each other up - our Morning wind up's became part of the fun.  Anyway we turned up this second time for a barbecue but Kostas had forgotten to mention to anyone that we were eating at the Bar that night  :o another flap on as the boys ran around preparing our table and the Lady Chef well let us just say she had a habit of going into a complete panic if she had to cook for more than 6 people  :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D there was the Chef sitting by the barbecue having a ciggy and a bottle of water  ??? when Kostas tells her that we are eating that night. Ciggy went one way and her hands started flapping - panic had set in Big Time with Kostas yelling out instructions :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D apologies made to us by the boys - what was Mr Viv and I doing - you guessed we were sitting at the table in fits of giggles again  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.  Have to say though she made amazing Skordalia and it kept Dracula and Mozzies away at night.

As you probably guessed by now we are a happy couple and it would take a hell of a lot to make us complain about anything. We are on holiday, we are relaxed and we just go with the flo  ;D  that is why we love being in Corfu because you just never know what is going to happen next  :-*

We got christened with a new name in our second week by Kostas as we lay on our Sun Loungers we became "You lazy English Buggers"  :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D so a yell across the pool from him was something like "You want water you lazy English buggers" and a thumb would go up from me to say yes please.

One morning while laying on our sunbeds a couple walked up the side of the hotel and I could here that they were English and I was sitting there reading, I heard the lady say to her Husband this looks nice love, so I piped up yes they are nice rooms, oh you are English says she, that started the conversation and they came around the fence and spoke with us.  Being a very good Lazy English Bugger PR I put my sales voice into operation and told them about the hotel and about Benitses.  They were staying at the A.I in Perama - I could see they were A.I as they had their Bracelets on  :)
anyway they spoke to us for about 15 mins and being a good PR I pulled out one of Le Mirage's cards from my purse and handed it to them (no I was not a Girl Guide - be prepared)  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Into the second week we finally one morning moved our backsides and set of early we went up to the Achillion got a bus and a little hike up there.  What amazing views from there and what a beautiful place, we thoroughly enjoyed finally seeing the Achillion.  We walked back down from there following the winding road, gosh it was a hot day to  8) managed to get back to Le Mirage and collapse on our Sun Beds with Kostas running up with lots of water for us  ;D ;D ;D ;D

to be continued................

Well Kostas has certainly got the measure of you two hasn't he!

He does sound a real character! ;D ;D ;D  We have met a few of those when we used to have holidays and they certainly know how to make your holiday memorable! In fact they make your holiday great!

Another funny account Viv!;D Keep these reports coming because I'm reliving your holiday and I'm lovin' it! ;D ;D ;D
Think before you speak! If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
