One ingredient ice cream....well, sort of.
« on: February 14, 2012, 01:35:04 PM »

One Ingredient Ice Cream.
And that one ingredient is.............................banana!!

I am going to try a second ingredient.....Baileys, well it is Valentines day.
 ;)
I shall post the result.

1. Peel and chop the bananas up into bite-sized pieces.
2. Freeze the banana pieces in a single layer for 1-2 hours (or up to overnight, just let them defrost in the fridge or on the counter to be soft enough to pulverize in the food processor).
4. Place banana pieces in a bowl of a food processor or blender and pulse until the texture is smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides if necessary.
5. Serve using an ice cream scoop.
If using, top with add-ins.
Store remaining ice cream in an airtight container in the freezer.

Yes, it did set took all night.
It doesn't have the ice crystals as ice cream does but still very 'lish!!
In the meantime we ate half of it in it's unfrozen state and Mrs C was mightily impressed.
Me got brownie points!!

I guess with banana we can use almost every fruit and berry :D
I like ice-cream with cherry or kiwi.
